Begin your adventure with an early morning pickup from your hotel or residence in Nairobi at 7:00 AM. Drive northward, crossing the equator into the Northern Hemisphere as you journey toward Samburu National Reserve—an arid, rugged region famed for its striking landscapes and rare wildlife species. Enjoy a brief stop at the Equator Line for photos and scientific fun, then continue to Ashnil Samburu Camp, arriving just in time for a delicious lunch.

Spend the early afternoon at leisure—take a dip in the pool, relax in your tent, or enjoy the scenic views—before heading out on your first game drive around 4:00 PM. Explore the semi-arid wilderness, spotting elephants, lions, and the unique species of Samburu before returning to camp before sunset.

Enjoy a full day of game drives in the pristine Samburu National Reserve. Venture out in the morning and afternoon in search of both the Big Five and the Samburu Special Five: the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, and long-necked gerenuk.

Watch crocodiles bask along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and velvet monkeys playing in the canopy as you explore. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to visit a traditional Samburu village to learn about the customs, attire, and traditions of this proud and vibrant community.

Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Wake up to the dawn chorus and set out on an early morning game drive—your final opportunity to spot wildlife in Samburu. After breakfast back at camp, depart for Nairobi with an expected arrival around 1:00 PM.

You’ll be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
